Yeah, but in '93 if the agency had pitched them on "and tuck your baby in from your cell phone," they would have been laughed out of the meeting.

True, but that's what's so funny about old future visions. Like the Jetsons housewife who has a robot maid. We've got robot vacuum cleaners now, but what's a housewife? ;)

Read some old Science Fiction - 1940's, 1950's - You'll find something like TVs and flying cars, and, oh yeah, a can opener to open up your beer!

(And we still have housewives, but most of them are multi-tasking soccer moms, or actually have very rich husbands).
