PETA wants to free all animals, including your Pokemon

PETA wants to save all animals, and are currently doing this by a PETA Pokemon parody game. Yes, they want you to save pokemon animals. There's a thousand twitter-jokes to be mined from that alone.

But wait, there's more. PETA doesn't know gaming history. The whole point of the first generation Pokemon games was to help save Pokemon's from being slaves to evil organisations. Trainers in Pokemon are like the pet-loving PETA people, friends with their animals and caretakers of them. It's as if PETA just declared they are Team Plasma. Did N just take over? Gamers, who I presume are the target here, feel free to be offended/palmface and/or belly-guffaw now.

For generations, Pokemon have suffered at the hands of their cruel trainers. Help PETA free Pikachu and his Pokemon friends as they struggle for Pokemon Liberation.

The amount of time that Pokémon spend stuffed in pokéballs is akin to how elephants are chained up in train carts, waiting to be let out to "perform" in circuses. But the difference between real life and this fictional world full of organized animal fighting is that Pokémon games paint rosy pictures of things that are actually horrible.

If PETA existed in Unova, our motto would be: Pokémon are not ours to use or abuse. They exist for their own reasons. We believe that this is the message that should be sent to children. —Team PETA
