Mattel Books - She-Ra Princess of Power (early 1980s classic) 0:30 (USA)

Wow, back in the day, toy were making books for kids to read bout their toys. Kind of like Star Wars books, but you know, with She-Ra. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but if it encouraged kids to read, then I guess it's okay. Also, what a great song, too. SO inspiring and majestic and regal. I wonder if they made a He-Man version and what that book was like. I'll bet somewhere there's a Gen X type who saved it, like they saved everything from their childhood. Now me, I saved memories and that's it. I don't even leave footprints in the sand of time. Wait, what? Never mind.

I wonder what it was like to work on this stuff in the 80's. If you worked on a toy account in the 80's, I wonder, would you have wanted to slit your wrists at the end of your career or was it really fun? I can just imagine the director yelling at the kids to look more interested in the product. I would have loved that. I'll bet the advertising people who had kids probably came home with so much Mattel stuff it was insane.
