Budweiser - Simply Put / Helen Mirren #GiveaDamn - (2016) :60 (USA)

Every year during the super bowl, Budweiser will give us an anti drunk driving ad. Every year, it's usually a celebrity who tells us it's a bad idea. Every year I feel that they fall flat. Until today. Here's fabulous Helen Mirren, the original badass lady who has both authority and sex appeal, berating us all for even entertaining the idea of drunk driving. She practically chews us all out and goads us into calling a cab, with humor and charm and that Helen Mirren touch we all love. When Helen reprimands you, you enjoy it. It's 60 seconds of Helen, and pure bliss.

But that's not all, Budweiser has partnered with Twitter to create a branded emoji, which shows up when you tweet #GiveADamn, and they will donate $1 dollar to safe ride programs, up to $1 million, in 2016 every time the hashtag is used as part of its anti-drunken driving efforts. We'll probably tweet #GiveADamn a million times before the week is up after people see the Helen ad. Install your Curb or Uber/Lyft app now, so you're prepared to have a nice cold one or four on Sunday.

Who thought she was gonna say "cunt" instead of coward? Raise a hand! *counts hands* Yep. It's all in her delivery. She's so good. To be clear though "Lets call Helen Mirren" isn't an actual idea. It's just a celebrity.

On first viewing I was holding my breath for C-word. She is so good the extra emphasis on coward was perfect - I thought C-word. She is a great actor and the "I'm so N' so" is not required. Well, maybe in USA, folks will say "She is that assassin lady in the movie RED.

Agree, it's a celebrity; good one at that.
