Game of Thrones Crypt built in Moscow in advance of a final season

Ahead of a final season of Game of Thrones, BBDO Moscow and Russian streaming service Amediateka prepared something very special for mega-hit fantasy TV show fans. They built the Game of Thrones’ Crypt in Moscow. Yes, a proper crypt! That you could visit!

The organizers reconstructed the “Hall of Faces”, an underground river in the Crypt and placed a dragon there. Jon Snow's grave was left ajar, alluding to a memorable scene from a season five. To set a special mood, there will be a weekly farewell to the heroes, who died over the course of six episodes, in the Crypt.

Amediateka is the place where everybody can legally watch new episodes of Game of Thrones in Russian along with the rest of the world.

“It's hard to imagine more appropriate time to introduce Amediateka naturally to our audience. To reach the viewers we choose a non-standard and unexpected way. We launched a real Crypt with the deceased characters from previous seasons right in the center of Moscow. We will give the audience and fans an opportunity not only to remember all the deaths of previous seasons, but also to try themselves as predictors — make guesses who will die in the final season and get a reward”, — Niki Megvelidze, BBDO Moscow Chief Creative Officer.

“We are glad to introduce our new project — the Game of Thrones Crypt. This space could become a Mecca for all fans of the TV show. There is they can deep dive into the Game of Thrones Universe and look back at all remarkable characters, who were killed over the previous 7 seasons”, — CEO of AMEDIA TV Dmitry Sychugov.

“This is a large-scale project with a number of complex elements. You can find there a large space decoration, more than 100 unique hand-made art objects, lighting design, sound art, guided tours and performances. We placed there a quite natural river, Hall of Faces, special soundtracks for each death and a fire breathing dragon. More than 900 fans attended premiere, including famous artists, politicians, journalists, businessmen and bloggers. They discussed the project and share their opinions in the media”, — Anna Sokolova, CEO of The Marketing Arm.
