Aprilia Motorcycle ad accused of sexism and banned in Spain: "The Arrecife Range: Now several sizes smaller"

An advertisement by Italian motorcycle company Aprilia was withdrawn after receiving complaints from the Women's Institute of Spain and consumers' group FACUA. The Women's Institute considered the advert to be sexist and Aprilia assured them they would only use respectful images of women in future ads.

FACUA claimed the advert violated Article 3 of the General Advertising Law, which prohibits ads that violate a person's dignity, values, or rights. The advert was for the Arrecife Range and stated that it was now available in smaller sizes.

The ad shows someone measuring a nude woman's buttocks, with the line: "The Arrecife Range: Now several sizes smaller"
