Click 3X Taps R/GA’s David Fisher as Managing Director & EP

New hire, first under Industrial Color Studios’ ownership, brings extensive agency experience in production, content creation and integration.

Click 3X has tapped David Fisher as the company’s new Managing Director and Executive Producer. The announcement was made by Peter Corbett, CEO of Click 3X, the film, video and post production studio that works for agencies and brands.

Fisher joins Click 3X from the New York office of R/GA, where he held the title of Executive Content Producer on Samsung Global and, before that, Verizon. Prior to joining R/GA he held senior production positions at such agencies as Arnold Worldwide, where he was SVP, Director of Integrated Production for its New York office, and TBWA\Chiat\Day, New York, where he was Executive Producer.

At Click 3X (www.click3x.com) he’ll be tasked with guiding the studio’s move into a new era of video content creation and production for brands and agencies, while also supervising the day to day operations of the studio as it continues to partner with its longstanding agency clients. Working closely with Corbett, Fisher will lead Click 3X as it prepares for a move into its new location in Tribeca, after which it will launch an extensive build-out to accommodate additional staff and production and post capabilities.

Corbett says Fisher’s hire is an exciting development for Click 3X that reflects the studio’s constantly evolving culture. “I first met David when he was at Arnold,” he explains, “and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. I’ve been impressed not only by his understanding of how to integrate content creation with marketing strategy, but by his entrepreneurial spirit, which will serve us well as we continue to grow.”

Fisher chose to join Click 3X for several reasons: “It feels like a natural progression for me,” he says, “and it’s a great opportunity to work for a content company that’s shown proven success in so many areas. It’s recent acquisition by Industrial Color Studios is the next chapter for this success, as it reflects the way content is being made in today’s marketing landscape. It’s about aggregating all of your resources in ways clients can easily take advantage of.”

Indeed, this ability to marshal forces around the goal of creating a wide array of deliverables for clients is at the core of Fisher’s assignment as Click 3X MD and EP. “Part of it, too, is bringing a deeper understanding of the agency world,” he observes. “At R/GA, we were making socially-relevant content based on its intended distribution medium, then finding the right talent to execute against that medium. The key is understanding the platform, and how the content and the platform need to reflect the audience. And that’s what Click3X has been consistently good at doing.”

A native of Chicago, Fisher is a graduate of Skidmore College and got his start in the business at MVBMS (now Havas) in New York. He later returned to Chicago where he joined Y&R as a producer, and from there landed in San Francisco to produce for Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. He returned to New York in 2009 to take an Executive Producer post at TBWA\Chiat\Day.

In addition, Fisher freelanced at several top agencies and launched and ran his own small content creation and production boutique, Griffith & Fisher, in partnership with the former CCO from Arnold, Aaron Griffith.

Corbett says Fisher’s hire marks a significant shift for Click 3X: “We’re attracting and hiring people with very different insights and perspectives,” he notes. “With David, we’ve reached into the agency ranks and brought in someone from a shop that’s known as being a hybrid, one that’s as strong in creativity, technical innovation and strategic thinking as it is in production. And that’s going to be enormously helpful as we move into a new phase of working more closely with the content creator community, where the established norms of commercial production are no longer relevant.”
