Ford's Saudi comment on women drivers looks just like Lynx award winner from 2016

As soon as Saudia Arabia announced that women will be allowed to drive, Nissan, Ford and Volkswagen hurried to publish topical ads commenting on the historic desicion. While Ford made their image look a lot like a woman in a full burka, it's a women's eyes in a rear-view mirror. Volkswagen went with hennaed hands, and Nissan had a special license plate.

Ford's simple image may be the best of the three, but something that simple has invariably been done before. Last year J. Walter Thompson in Doha were awarded at Dubai Lynx when they used the same image for the news site Rafeef22, as their topic was about women's right to drive.
