Man dressed as Shark mascot fined in Austria under new anti-Burka law

Warda Network, and Austrian ad agency shared on their facebook page that a man in a Shark Mascot suit they created was fined for running afoul of the new anti-Burka law.

"Today we were at the Mcshark shop opening and our shark mascot received a fine from the Vienna police because of the new ban on face-coverings! Life is not easy!"

The managing director of Warda Network, Eugen Prosquill, told the daily newspaper Heute that his agency may not use mascots again following the incident. "I did not know that the law stretches so far that even mascots are affected," he said and added "it would be a pity if there were no mascots left."
The new law which went into effect the 10th of October 2017 has already caused mass confusion, prompting people in Austria to wonder whether they may dress up in masks for Halloween or not. The Ministry of the Interior confirmed and clarified that the Burka-ban is not applicable to Halloween costumes. Then why is applicable on a shark mascot? Madness.
