This ad was shot on location in Amboy, California. Amboy is a small community in San Bernardino County, in California's Mojave Desert, situated on route 66. The community has a motel & café, a gas station and a lot of vehicle traffic from the 30s to the 50s, but then almost became a ghost town when traffic was rerouted on bigger roads. Roy's Motel Cafe is the location for this ad, and the seldom visited motel became a movie set for several years, with its biggest role perhaps in the 1986 motion picture "The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer. Occasional bit parts in ads like these still bring the tourists by.
