This is spec work by two film students, and it's about 50 million times better than the nonsense that Johnnie Walker is putting out now in a literally plotless attempt to appeal to the sort of millennial who thinks brass band + hot air balloon = fun.
Imagine having a budget of millions and being upscaled by two students? Inspiring stuff. Who needs clients anyway? Maybe if we just got rid of them altogether, more ads would be like this. In a customary fit of breathless hyperbole, Adweek asks "Is This The Best Student Work Ever?" And you know what... it might be.
Contrast this to "Joy Will Take You Further". I'd love to be a fly on the wall at BBH London today, after they lost Walker to Anomaly earlier in the year. It's almost like someone gave them the business back.
