Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs - Free The Speech - (2016) :30 (Sweden)

The Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Sweden itself celebrated the 250 years of Free Speech we have written into law, by this campaign and a large gathering in Stockholm (See this article for more). In this ad we see famous speeches at the UN, delivered by actors like Emma Watson and Leonardo di Caprio, and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai - but with the actual speech edited out. It's just awkward silence, sounds of papers shuffling and nothingness. One could eve say that it is as quiet as the silent majority.
- We see this 250-year anniversary as an opportunity to highlight the importance of a free press and show how quiet the world becomes without free speech, says Anna Björkander, Head of Communication at Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
- In this case we believe that silence speaks louder than words. It serves as a reminder for everyone who take freedom of speech for granted and will hopefully inspire more people to raise their voices for those who have none, says Christoffer Dymling, Copywriter at King.
