Mastercard - New Friends / Yankee fan - (2011) :30 (USA)
Crazy Yankee fan premieres the new section at the stadium by inviting everyone he sees on the street that are clear yankee fans. Nice. His debt will be priceless too, no doubt.
Thai Life Insurance - Silence of Love - (2011) 3:00 (Thailand)
Thai ads turn me into a puddle of sobs, or a puddle of laughter. This is the sob variety, bring kleenex, which Ogilvy & Mather Bangkok now owe me a shipment of.
The teenage daughter is ashamed, and bullied, about her mute father. She wants a "normal" dad, one that understands her, one that can hear her shout. If this ad doesn't make you cry a little, you've worked far too long in advertising and need a vacation.
Allan Grey - Time Flies / Child grows - (2011) :90 (South Africa)
Way to get me all weepy eyed, Allan Grey. This story will go straight to the heart of most parents. As a child, all you want is to grow, be older and wiser, as a parent, all you want is to cherish every moment. Truth well told.
You don't need to understand Afrikaans to understand the story. The mother at the start tells her daughter to that it's just five more sleepies until the big day. The daughter, impatient with counting wishes herself to next week and her birthday. She continues using her gift to fast-forward her life to ride big kid rides at the amusement park, to marry the boy of her dreams, to land that dream job. To skip the whole pregnancy and see the moment of her own daughters birth....
NAB - Honesty Experiment #1 Incorrect Change - (2011)
What happens if you are one of the rudest Baristas around, who apart from sly insults and backhanded compliments, also give far too much change back to your customers? Well, if the customers are Australian, they'll alert you to your mistake, because Australians are an honest lot. And they deserve credit to match.
We built our own coffee stand in Melbourne's busy CBD and instructed our Barista to give back $5 too much change. Then to make it even harder for customers to be honest, we made him obnoxious.
Affinity Plus-Underwear and Socks - (2011) :30 (UNITED STATES)
Twist Director Matt Pittroff shared his comedic flair with Affinity Plus Credit Union for their new spot “Underwear and Socks” that portrays the less than ideal world of banking fees. A wink and nod to the expression “losing the shirt off your back,” the repercussions of living with banking fees becomes clear in this hilarious interpretation.

AARP - Betty White "Got Over It-a-Thon" (2011) :30 (USA)
TMB - the story of Panyee FC - (2011) 5:15
This five minute short film tells the true story of how Koh Panyee, Thailand, built their own floating football field in 1986, and established one of the best footballs teams in the country. TMB bank's campaign centers around you being able to make the difference in life, and I think their strategy is to film awesome stories like this one making me all weepy eyed. Honestly, Thai advertising either has me screaming with laughter or crying, you guys are evil.

There’s nothing like the feeling of getting really lucky. A lucky break can make everything better. Combine that with a trip to Fallsview Casino and you’ve really got something. This was the thinking behind Fallsview Casino Resort’s new television campaign, “Anyone Can Get Lucky”, created and produced by Blammo Worldwide.

TC Bank - Dream Rangers - (2011) 3:00 (Taiwan)
Forget selling banks with the "for all your roast beef needs" tired old phrases, in Taiwan they'll tug at your heartstrings hard to convince you that their bank is the right choice. Because what is banking? It's saving money for a rainy day, borrowing money for something you need, and in this case it's for that last epic motorcycle road trip across Taiwan, just so you can hang with the gang at beach like you did so long ago.
Edit: I posted this under "Thailand" at first, when the agency credits reads "Taiwan". Man, I need coffee. My bad!
