"Move over Cadbury, the diva took your ad down" - Cadbury ad accused of racism

A Cadbury's ad with the line "Move over Naomi, there's a new diva in town" references the supermodel Naomi Campbell's infamous "diva"-style tantrums, but Naomi feels certain it's the color of her skin that's described as she says to the Independent.

"I am shocked. It's upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people. I do not find any humour in this. It is insulting and hurtful."
President Obama and his wife may be the most powerful political couple in the world, but this insult by Cadbury’s clearly shows we do not live in a post-racial world"

A spokesperson for Cadbury's said:

"It was certainly never our intention to cause any offence and the campaign itself is a light-hearted take on the social pretensions of Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss. Cadbury takes its responsibility very seriously indeed and we would never produce any marketing activity we felt might cause offence to any section of society."

.
Cadbury's has pulled this ad, which is one of 15 press ads for its Bliss chocolate bar in a wider campaign that runs until this weekend. The campaign was created at Fallon, London by creative team Michela Nicchiott and Aurora Straton, with the executive creative directors Chris Bovill and John Allison.
