In Syria, phone connections are bad and a lot of Syrians don't even have phones. On Mach 21st, Refugee Phones managed to buy media space from a Syrian radio stations, which then allowed refugees to send their messages to their moms back home. In other words, they turned the phone greetings into 150 radio spots that were heard all over Syria.
