I wonder if Jamie Oliver's reality TV show/restaurant - Fifteen also had product placement up the wazoo?
Nice catch Robblink - thankyou, I was curious to how this would turn out. Is the show any good? :)

PermalinkI actually kind of like it. Its fun to watch someone trying to create a work of beauty, but he has to compromise to people who have money but no sense of aesthetics. Hmmm....kind of reminds me of my job.....

PermalinkI don't think any of the those reality TV shows of restaurant openings (Oliver's and Morimoto from NYC) had any major product placement in the show. I don't remember seeing anything or picking up on it.
I saw a spot this AM that I think was for American Express Business Card, using the show clips and such in the ad. It's not a bad idea, and it at least makes some sort of sense.

PermalinkIn general, I don't think product placements are bad. They're everywhere in TV shows and movies now. However, I draw the line when I see the products in the opening credits. They also did a poor job integrating the products in the show. It was just so blatant.
