A gorilla falls in love with a ginger kitten. That's "the Swatch attraction".
I can't help but think this pairing was created after someone read up on Koko, the guerilla who knew sign language. She had a ginger kitten, whom she named "All Ball", because of how cats sleep, and how kittens play. Koko loved "All Ball". Koko and her kitten All Ball were featured on the cover of National Geographic magazine.
In December 1984, All Ball escaped from Koko's cage and was killed by a car. Later, Koko's instructor and caregiver, Francine Patterson, said that when she signed to Koko that All Ball had been killed, Koko signed "Bad, sad, bad" and "Frown, cry, frown, sad, trouble". Patterson also reported later hearing Koko making a sound similar to a human weeping in her cage that night.
