Labello lipbalm gets exotic with animals

Insert joke about cosmetics being tested on animals here. Yep.

Febreze - Mother's day / Flowers

If you aren't getting mom flowers, at least get her something that smells like flowers.

Nissan Sentra - Delft blue People -Brazil print ad

Lew'Lara\TBWA explains: "The campaign was created for the launch of the new Nissan Sentra with 6 airbags. To reinforce the car's high level of safety, we created ads that show, in a playful way, how fragile people are." Yes, as fragile as Delft Blue /Delftware pottery. Or as fragile as our willing suspension of disbelief regarding massive photoshop jobs. (Don't get me wrong, this is quite good - it's the blue on the girls bangs that throws me off.)

Unlock a woman and help escape domestic violence

The french organization Ni Putes Ni Soumises (Neither Whores Nor Submissives) did an event earlier this month at Pont des Arts in Paris. A poignant place, considering this beautiful bridge has been a romantic spot for ages.

NPNS hung hundreds of padlocks on the bridge-- each representing a woman stuck in a violent relationship. Over the past ten years domestic violence is up 30% in france. Ni Putes Ni Soumises works to free those women.

BY scanning a QR code on the padlock, you could see testimonies from domestic violence victims on your phone. Afterwards you could donate. And if you chose to donate, you'd get a symbolic code to "unlock," the woman.

I do applaud the effort as it's perfect placement. And it's also great for drumming up PR.

The New York Lottery gets creepy for Mother's Day

Just in time for Mother's Day, these fun and only slightly creepy print/OOH boards celebrate the New York Lottery's Mother's Day Scratch Off Game.

I wonder what you win? How about a night away from those kids, they are working my last nerve? Or maybe, grandma watches the kids so me and daddy can do the stuff that got us the kids int he first place?

Nah, you prolly just win money.

Porteur Bike sale

Porteur is a new bicycle brand that has a one-for-one scheme, kind of like Tom's shoes. Buy a bike and they'll donate one. In order to promote their 10% sale, they decided to run the ad where cyclists were sure to see it: On the street. Made from water soluble paint, ads were made out of the road markings pointing out the bicycle lane. Clever use of a timely 10% discount. Because when the ads disappear so does the sale.

Fair enough. But what happens if it doesn't rain or snow in Stockholm for a bit? I realize this is impossible in spring there, but if we pretended climate change hit the land of Vikings, when's the official sale end?

Mom's Demand Action - Anti Gun / Choose One - print ads 2013

Mom's demand action signed off on this print campaign that shows children holding one banned object and one object that is not banned. The surprise being that the not banned is the big scary looking gun on the right. Dodgeball is banned? Well, in a single New Hampshire school it is. Oh, and the US ban of Kinder eggs has been cracked , and it's now safe to sell, so either that ad waited around to get clearance or someone failed the research.

The Guardian - Thatcher / Marmite - MarmiteGuardian

Thank you The Guardian for summing up exactly how people feel about Margaret Thatcher in this witty irreverant visual.

Both those who loved her, and those who hated her, can join in a tiny smirk at "contains iron", and nod their heads yes in recognition. Finally, the pitchforks and torches were laid to rest as we all went to put the kettle on.

Helsinki Region Transport Fact Campaign

More from the Helsinki Region Transport, urging you to take public transportation rather than drive.

OKay I'm down with public transportation. But only if it's in a lovely tilt-shift art direction world.

Gioni's Revenge - Condiments spanking women / Ketchup spanking - (2013) print (Italy)

Honestly now? I'm not sure exactly where these ads ran (or even if) but alch1m1a have done weird things before. Still "Don’t Spank His Bottom Again" advertising brown sauce and "Did You Spank His Mom’s Bottom" for ketchup? Worst... "Learn To Squeeze Her" for salad dressing. I lost my appetite.
