NYPOST denial (from US VW) and the Revolution magazine denial, but ad-press UK Brand Republic is still hosting the ad "not made for public consumption" on their site. (Brand Republics denial story is here by the way)
... oh it was just something a geezer said in another forum. "when are we gonna see fat beer-bellied men doing ads for Dove, huh, huh?" in a sort of jelous-attack when the discussion wasn't focused on his bits. In real life, I don't know any (advertising) guy who doesn't think this campaign is refreshing and smart.
Thanks Guy and Caffeinegoddess. This campaign is great, and after this interview I like it even more. Sound base, great idea, and another massive gold star from me (which counts double because I am in the target market, so nyah to all guys who hate this campaign. It's not for you.).
If it aint by the LAD directing team Lee and Dan (which it is) and aint got nothing to do with DDB (who has VW), then why is Brandrepublic hosting the same ad? Hmm? ;)
