Ads that are like installation art isn't completly new, actually there's been art installation ideas that later became ad campaign ideas - remember the Richard Piece vs Museum of contemporary art and Britart? - but this is admittidly, pretty darn neat. I love the surreal feel of the melted parking meter and that extra touch of hot generated by the smoke. Great attention to detail. It's cool. ;)

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is upset with Burger King about the www.chickenfight.com promotion created by Crispin, Porter +
Bogusky. The site allows users to pit two guys in chicken suits -- representing different chicken sandwiches -- against each other in a cage match. Not funny, according to HSUS president and CEO Wayne Pacelle, who says in a statement, "Whatever the intent of this promotion, the effect
is to make light of chicken fighting. Cockfighting, which is illegal in 48 states, is a disgraceful practice not only involving animal cruelty, but drug trafficking, illegal gambling and human-on-human violence."
Someone once told me "Ideas don't belong to you. They belong to God. You don't create ideas. You hear them". Naturally I though he was off his trolley - which he is, in a very sane way. Since then I've seen so many 'coincidences' happen between me and my team mates, me and my roommates, friends at work and other pals and so on, I swear It is like ideas are out in the ether and you you 'catch' them like the flu at times. Well timed coincidences are always interesting for Badland - only a fraction of the cases in there are actual obvious 'thefts'. The others, who knows how that happened? The idea-God messed with your heads, that's how! ;)
