Speaqua Sound has launched a campaign promoting a limited-edition portable and waterproof speaker collection in partnership with the Rolling Stones. The new product line is made up of three of Speaqua’s models, each decorated with The Stones’ iconic lips and tongue logo. The campaign was directed by Gabriel Novis, who is represented for commercial work in the U.S. by LOS FILMS, the commercial production division of L.A. based creative studio LOS YORK.
The spot is a kinetic travelogue through the gritty streets of New York, following a young skateboarder, accompanied by “Angry,” the lead single from the Stone’s latest studio album “Hackney Diamonds.”
“The idea behind the spot was to capture the timelessness of the Stone’s music,” said Novis. “We shot it in 16mm film with one of my favorite cameras, the Aaton, in order to recreate the handheld feel of City of God, my all-time favorite film, and to make it feel as if it could have been shot in the 80s or 90s. Also, I wanted the spot to feel iconic, like the Stones themselves, one of my favorite bands. It was an amazing job to work on.”
According to the Speaqua Sound website, their new Stones collection “is where the rebellious spirit of rock and roll meets Speaqua’s cutting-edge, adventure-ready design. Celebrating The Rolling Stones’ unparalleled influence on global music, the collaboration embodies Speaqua’s mission to bring more music to more places.”
The Stones branded Speaqua models are The Cruiser H2.0, which is a small to-go speaker that comes with a bottle opener, and the Barnacle Pro 2.0 and Barnacle Vibe 3.0, which feature a mounting station and store up to 2,000 songs.
