Michael J Fox is in desperate need of a drink, while at the opera with his date. He manages to slapstick fall on his way out of the row, then arrives to find there is no Pepsi in the foyer. But, he sees a vending machine outside! Hooray! But now he's locked out, and in his efforts to sneak back in he ends up on stage.
The opera written for this matches all of his emotions and the events quite perfectly.
