Trash Talk on 14th Street: Mayor's Office Denies Involvement in Anti-Trump Artwork

Well, it looks like 14th Street in DC has become the latest art gallery, but instead of showcasing Van Gogh or Monet, they've decided to go for a more... political palette. These flyers aren't your typical "lost cat" or "band gig" posters; they've got the city's logo on them, which made everyone think, "Oh, the Mayor must have a new campaign for city cleanliness... or maybe not."

X users, or as we old-timers call them, Twitter folks, went into full-blown internet detective mode over these ads, which were less about beautifying the city and more about branding former President Trump as "trash". Someone snapped a pic of this masterpiece and tagged the District and the Mayor's office, probably thinking they'd get some likes on their investigative journalism.

But, plot twist! The Mayor's office chimed in through the DDOT DC's X account, saying, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! This art wasn't created, funded, or authorized by us. We're not in the business of political satire, we're into building infrastructure, people! Our teams are out there, playing the world's least fun game of 'Whack-a-Mole', removing these posters. If you spot more, call 311 and join the fun!"

So, it seems like 14th Street has turned into a political comedy club without the mayor's permission. Who knew city logos could cause such a stir? Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go check if my local street art is actually an unsanctioned political statement or just someone's abstract take on recycling.
