Isn't the whole setup one of the oldest ideas in the book? Right there, on the top ten list between the good old "best kept secret" and the ever popular testemonials.

....the owner's father, Earnie Boch is a legend inlocal advertising. His face had been on TV here since I was a small child.
I can recall the copy in most of his ads:
"Our new and used Toyotas are priced the lowest because our costs are less..."
He also coined the phrase, "Come on down." which he said at the end of every single flippin' ad. I believe he passed away a year or two ago.
Perhaps his son is simply trying to get out from under his father's very well
known shadow with some quirky ads of his own.

...at least that solves some of the mystery....
