Yeah the other night, after succefully ejecting that annoying meow mix tune out of my brain I couldn't sleep, because all I could hear in my head was the old double your pleasure double your fun doublemint jingle. The stickest ones though were the 1980s big Red "So kiss a little longer.. something a little longer.. Longer with BIG RED" and the european Extra "last an extra extra EXTRA long time". ARGH!!!
Related chatter: RIP commercial jingles. Looks like the era of "I'd like to teach the world to sing" and "Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer weiner" is going away, thanks to the use of pop and rock songs. at Metafilter...
all I have to add is:
Meow, meow, meow, meow,
meow, meow, meow, meow,
meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow... Everybody sing along!
Similar list, Differences between consulting and prostitution at thatwasfunny.com :)
Relatet baby-fun. I made a post at Metafilter about this and the thread provides many more links to crazy baby fashion. I dig it.
The sierra Mist advert is here in the commercial archive by the way.
There is more of course... L@@K!!! ADVERTISING SPACE! ON MY PROSTHETIC LEG!!!!! and ADVERTISE YOUR COMPANY LOGO OR WEBSITE ON MY CHEST!!!!!. Wonder what this says about us as a soceity... ;)
Does one have to use all caps and a lot of exclamation marks at eBay? ;)
Yeah you got that right sport. My guess is that they hadn't sent a release to the Daily Mail...?
They are donating funds though - from the Irish Examiner
The company has announced that it plans to donate $1 million towards tsunami relief and recovery efforts. The company is also donating bottled water sold under the Aquafina name and other PepsiCo products.
An earlier Media Guardian report says that Pepsi wasn't alone, the weirdest example of a pulled ad here is the marmite one:
And Marmite today confirmed it was withdrawing its adverts because billboard scenes of people fleeing from a giant "blob" of the savoury spread were reminiscent of the tusnami disaster.
