I'm speaking strictly about conglomerate owned agencies here, but when the head of MDC resigns and is forced to pay back 20 million dollars due to an investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission into it's shall we say, creative accounting, it's a little hard to believe they don't "have the money." Fairly certain twenty million would take care of a couple of raises....
I know exactly what the agency intended. They intended to capitalize on the movement du jour same as it was Dadvertising a few years ago or clean water a few years before that. I'm more cynical than most but this is just plain pandering to get in the news.
Oh I completely get it. The ad is depressing as shit and is trying to jump on a national trend, in this case Danish divorce. It's kind of like the Dadvertising trend from last year in America in the same way that is pandering so incredibly hard. Also this doesn't sell cars.
According to a Finnish police survey, only one in four rapes in Finland are reported, putting the yearly estimate at 4,000. Finland's leading newspaper, Helsingin Sanomat, called the country "one of the least safe countries in Europe for women." The idea that a rape can be prevented simply by pushing is not only laughable and naive, but a tremendous waste of Finnish taxpayer money. This is the best idea the government can come up with to protect its people? If I were a Finnish woman, let alone one who was a rape victim, I would be angered by this ad.
