Andrex ad causes stink but avoids bannage

The UK's Advertising Standards Agency today rejected 62 complaints over three Andrex Toilet Wipe Ads. They said the ads, by J. Walter Thompson, were meant to be funny and not offensive. The ads appeared in the Daily Telegraph, the Guardian, the Daily Mail, the London Evening Standard and the Sunday Times.

One of the other ads featured a woman wearing black knickers and the same headline with a tattoo of two wilting roses on her back.

The third ad showed a man in boxers with the same headline and a dragon which "appeared to be retreating from the anal area with a horrified expression on its face."

Thank common sense that the ASA saw that these ads are indeed funny. Cheeky even. ;)
