I didn't know Arby's was around back in the 80s. This is a national spot as it played during the Super Bowl but I don't think the Arby's chain was a national chain. I thought, back then anyway, that it was very regional.
According to wiki,
Arby's was founded in Ohio in 1964 and began its expansion to other
states in 1968. According to Arby's own history, it had over 2000
stores in 40 states by 1980. Today they're headquartered in Georgia,
and have approximately 3600 stores in the US and Canada.
For comparison purposes, McDonald's has ver 30,000 stores.
That's a heart attack waiting to happen.
