Jose Cuervo - Flight 1972 / Tequila Sunrise Tour - (2015) :60 (UK)

Aaaaah, the seventies. The bad ass, TV thrown out of hotel room windows, cocaine off a groupies belly, bogged down in smoke, velvet clad, rock and roll seventies. The rock bands have their own airplanes and name them stuff like "The lapping tongue" seventies. The all the drugs in the world have been soaked up by Keith Richards, if you want any wait until he dies and then smoke his ashes, seventies.

Wait, that's not what you see in this ad! This looks like a fashion ad!

And why do we have "Miss You" as the theme song - which was released in 1978 - are they "missing" the STP 'Stones Touring Party' era already? What's the Indian guru doing on the plane - is this the seventies or the sixties? Who is that guy talking into a tape recorder - a cross between Truman Capote and a young Hunter S. Thompson? Where's the heroin? Is that "The Dude" hanging out on the plane? He really ties the room together. Why is everyone so clean, and where are the leather pants?

I dunno, it just seems a little too gold-tinted glasses to me, the seventies just don't look right without a thick haze of smoke filling the flight, and sweat stained polyester. Still, props for nicely shot time-travel to the hotpants era and extra points for the actresses serious wiggle-butt skills. I'm pretty sure everyone walked like that in the seventies.

Before I saw you posted this, I posted a story more or less the exact same comments. GET OUT OF MY MIND. Geek Power Unite!

Also, I assumed the Stones were more Jack Daniels fans.

I'll bet it went like this:

Agency: There's this album called Exile On Mainstreet, it's the most influential album they Stones ever--

Client: Never heard of it. Give me that Disco song.

Agency: But that came out six years after the fact.

Client: *scoffs* It's not like anyone will notice.

Oh, we noticed, all right.

Ha ha ha, well the press release did lean heavily on the fact that it was called the "Tequila Sunrise tour", they just omitted it was actually called "the cocaine and tequila sunrise tour".
