Monet - Patriotic charm bracelet, Maud Adams, Lauren Hutton 1970 print

Monet was selling jewellery for a moment with very individualized portraits of women that represented a new generation, a younger, fresher, different style of women.

This first example, patriotic American flag headgear and peace-sign portrait would be read quite differently by the Brits, however.

Teenage girls were marketed to, hoping that the hippie demographic might pick up a charm bracelet, but as Monet was still high-end that wasn't going to be likely.
