NYC Footy, a soccer community located in New York, are helping to raise awareness of social distancing by pointing out that in the game of footballs (sorry, 'soccer' to you yanks), it's actually part of the rules. That is, the free-kick distance rule. By using footage of the familiar scenario in various games, they're reminding players and fans alike to #respectthedistance.
“Social Distancing has been a hot topic in Footy for years,” the New York-based soccer community says on their social channels. “Some players get it. Other’s don’t. This video sums up soccer’s history with social distancing while sharing a message on the importance of following the rules.”
