The quirky and exaggerated story inspired by true events shows us Sebastian Artois selling everything he has in order to buy a brewery. His stuff, his piano and his little dog too. The discovery of the van Gogh "Sunflowers" paining in his bedroom pushes the pile of money to the top and now he can get that reassuringly expensive brewery. "What do you want to be remembered for?" indeed. When Sebastian died, nobody expected his widow to take over the brewery, but .... that's another commercial.
Client: Stella Artois UK
Wow. These are totally charmless. I mean really, they lack any kind of warmth or humanity.
Bacardi did it way better with their 'Untameable Since 1862' campaign.

This is so bad, it makes me want to stop drinking Stella Artois.
Let's take a moment to remember when Stella advertising was the best in the world:

The above commercial is one of my all time favourites - and one that as a teenager prompted my belief that advertising could be great.
If you look at Stella Artois 'Pilot' from 2004, it's as fresh today, 12 years later, as it was then. 'Pilot' is a classic, and it stands the test of time.
Here's another incredible one - wow, this takes me back.

'The Epidemic' won a Gold at Cannes. It's magnificent - another piece of storytelling magic. Brilliant, human, whimsical.
Watching this new Stella ad in comparison to these old greats - it's simply embarrassing.
