Virgin Media O2 - Daisy, the AI granny wasting scammers’ time

O2 just introduced Daisy, the AI Granny in charge of scammer shenanigans. She's a tech-savvy grandma, crafted with the latest AI wizardry, who's now scamming the scammers by engaging them in long, meandering chats about her knitting projects and fake bank details.

Trained by YouTube's own scambaiting hero, Jim Browning, Daisy is out there 24/7, turning scam calls into a senior citizen's social hour. Brits are loving it because, who wouldn't want to get back at those pesky fraudsters without wasting their own time? Daisy’s mission is to keep scammers on the line so long, they might just give up the ghost—or at least, give up on scamming for the day.

In a twist, Amy Hart, a reality TV star, teamed up with Daisy to show just how real this AI granny can get, after she herself fell for a scam on her friend’s wedding day. Moral of the story? Not all grandmas are what they seem, especially when they're AI designed to give scammers a run for their money.

Amy Hart said “I know first-hand just how sophisticated nasty fraudsters can be, that’s why I’ve teamed up with O2 and AI Scambaiter Daisy to take the fight back to them, keeping them busy with calls going nowhere.

“But whilst I love a wind up, it’s scary to see the lengths scammers go to steal everything from passwords to bank details regardless of who they’re speaking to. Whether you’re young or old, anyone can be a victim of a scam that’s why we can never be too careful when it comes to unexpected calls or texts.

“If you have even the tiniest doubt about who you’re speaking to, the best thing to do is to hang up the phone and call back on a trusted number.”
