Dear Ad Agencies, and whomever this may concern: We see shampoo commercials featuring women washing their hair in the shower. Prell, Pert Plus, and Herbal Essences commercials feature women washing their hair in the shower.
Now, let's look at your typical face wash commercial. Women with her hair tied back, splashes some water on her face, at the sink.
Then she lathers up with a face wash, and then splashes water on her face to rinse it. So the question is: Why don't we see women washing their face in the shower in face wash ads?
I admit there are a few exceptions. A few Noxzema commercials show shower rinsing. Also, some soap commercials show women washing their face in the shower. But come on Oil of Olay, Pond's, and Dove, give us some realism. If we can see a woman in the shower washing her face with Lever 2000 deodorant soap, why not a Oil of Olay foaming face with a woman washing her face in the shower? There are several cleansing cloth products being advertised. So far, none have featured women cleansing their face in the shower. We've seen women in body wash commercials in the shower. All I'm talking about is showing a woman wetting her face (splashing it or under a shower head), then lathering her face, then rinsing her face under the shower.
Can anyone out there, explain why we don't see facial cleansing in the shower?
I think the sink washing looks more like a spa treatment. It looks more luxurious than jumping in the shower, getting your hair wet and sudsing your face up.

PermalinkThese are commercials, people, not real life. I mean, how many women have orgasms when they condition their hair?

PermalinkGood point Kaz, although we all know that most women can "bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never let her husband forget he's a man." Who said commercials = real life?
