heh, cute ad.

You have a skunk!? Neat! When I was around five or six I was totally nuts about skunks, and begged my mother to get one - closest I ever got was a black and white cat and one-thousand different skunk cuddly animals. Once I met a guy in a mall when I was in my major skunk-loving faze, and he was carrying his pet skunk around so I at least got to pet one. Skunks are cool.
Well, I think the Bravia ad is an absolutley fantastic piece of film, and I'm green of envy because I'd love to launch a bazillion bouncy balls down the streets of San Fran and shoot it. The soundtrack is great (Go Swedish artist *rah rah*), the shots are gorgeous (go Danish director and photographer, *rah rah*)... But the idea..? The idea that it's telling us? I think I've seen a few hundred variations of "this TV does color so much better" by demonstrating it - and I watch it on a black and white so the demonstration is lost on me. So in it's thinking, it's not that new, selling a color TV on good color, it's just the most bombastic and big. And dare I say... ballsy in its execution. ;)
Ah, bless - someone else said it first. It annoyed the hell out of me too, not just the clackety-click, but also the typewriter-font spelled out ihaveanidea.org real slooooow, took too long and I don't need to be told anything twice ( thrice? typewriter font +sound + typing-animation? argh!) It's like when the VO reads the super... a pet peeve of mine.that said, I love grandma's "damn juniors" comeback....
It's a viral, REKAL.NET is owned by domainsbyproxy.com , which is the virally way of hiding who really owns a domain prefferd by ad / viral agencies in north America.
The URL mentioned at the end of the clip though, PRODUCTIONVASION.COM is owned by the Writers Guild of America which is interesting in light of a recent article that Caffeinegoddess posted: Writer Guilds call for disclosure in promotions and product placement. It's safe to conclude that It's not "real" but a viral for the Writers Guild of America. Ta-dah.
(full disclosure, I've neither had my coffee nor read adrants this morning so If I just repeated the obvious here, meh!)
