Thanks to a generous contribution from a Silicon Valley exec, the "I ❤️J K Rowling" billboard campaign is now seen in San Francisco, California. Previously, the campaign has appeared in Edinburgh, Scotland, and then Vancouver, Canada.
Once again, it's Christopher Elston who has arranged for the billboard. He was also part of the team that set the Vancouver one up. He thanked the anonymous donor publically on twitter, and noted that "freedom of speech is dead" in America.
Yes, we live in a time where Americans now turn to Canada in secret, in order to declare love for the world’s greatest children’s author, on their home soil.
To do so openly would mean certain job termination.
Freedom of Speech is dead.

This digital billboard will be seen, as it gets 700,000 views per week, 3 miles from San Francisco airport, on Highway 101 targeting anyone driving north from SFO.
Christopher would not elaborate on how long the billboard has been booked, but as these things usually go, the media company is usually inundated with demands to remove it pretty quickly.
Reminder that Outfront media has a call for entries for their "out of love" competition 2020, where you can submit any billboard design you want and get it seen free across the country.
