Taking a page from MAD Magazine, Miller Genuine Draft has created a funny fold-up ad. The subliminal message? Nothing brings together half-naked girls and horny guys as much as beer!

As seen in the October 2003 issue of Spin Magazine, with Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba on the cover.

ace! Is this a first for advertising to re-use that fun Mad gag? (I admit, I treasured the ones with the foldable covers..)

PermalinkBefore there was Where's Waldo... the logistics of design, the care that must be taken with the fold - I swoon!
In recent memory, anyway, I can't recall seeing the MAD fun page used. What an excellent ploy to pull people in and get them to interact with the ad. Much like those Captain Morgan fake short story ads with the Captain bursting through - I admit I tried to read them as far as I could.

PermalinkI am a huge fan of the brilliant "usual gang of idiots"
at MAD, and they have provided me with countless ideas.
I had planned on using the fold-out idea someday in an ad, but Miller beat me to it.
Waaaaaaaa! Booohoooooo! :-(

PermalinkDidn't Absolut vodka run a print ad in the same genre? I can't remember which one it was, but there was definite Mad Magazine usage goin on..
