Linkin Park - CASTLE OF GLASS (featured in Medal of Honor Warfighter) - (2012)

True to the Medal of Honor philosophy, “Castle of Glass” highlights the emotional realities soldiers and their families face far from the battlefield. Stauffer and O’Flaherty developed the concept around the all-too-familiar story of a child learning from a military officer that his father has been killed in battle. While his life is torn apart, the military community surrounds and supports him through the overwhelming process of healing and rebuilding. Mothership and Digital Domain worked with the directors to shoot live action dramatic sequences and Linkin Park performing against green screen. Digital Domain created ‘the void,’ an otherworldly place representing the chaotic state of the child’s mind, complete with violent storms that rain shattered glass. They also created a completely computer-generated version of the live-action living room shot for the piece, which cracks and shatters around Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda as the emotional core of the story breaks loose. Gameplay action was captured and virtual humans in the cinematics were created by Digital Domain and Mothership in the company’s in-house virtual production studio. "Castle of glass" was created for Electronic Arts’ Medal of Honor Warfighter. The game releases October 23. You can watch the making of the VFX video here
