I had the pleasure of seeing Lizzo live at a festival last fall. It was one of those festivals that has so many acts, you wander around between stages and catch acts that you didn't know you actually wanted to see. She popped up on stage, and got a rather somber audience who were all sitting down suffering from mild heatstroke and too-many-day-beers to get up on their feet and dance with her before the end of the first song! The lady has pull, she works an audience, and by the end of her set, I was a diehard fan.
In this music video, Lizzo and director Quinn Wilson pull out all of the eighties looks to fit with the retro-sounding song. It's jerry curls and shiny aerobics outfits. It's daytime TV shopping, and late-night talk shows.
