Rappers, the new ad creatives?

Jay Z and his apparel company Rocawear will be helping Coca Cola out with all aspects of the Cherry Coke's relaunch, ranging from the look of the new can to the TV commercials and even co-producing and appearing at the brand's Feb. 7 launch during New York's Fashion Week, which will also launch Cherry Coke Zero. The Cherry Coke ads are being created by 72 and Sunny.

Jay Z is already the face and co-brand director of Budweiser Select and will appear in a Super Bowl. He has also appeared in an ad for Hewlett-Packard, and earlier this month disclosed a deal with General Motors and its Yukon Denali SUV. Other rap stars like Snoop, 50 Cent, and a growing number of others are also actively getting more involved in marketing and branding aspects, although usually for their own brands.
