LA-based Standard Time is promoting Twitters new native video platform with a web series featuring Millennial influencers from all walks of life. #FFWD2016 feature Twitter creators in music, food, sports, sports, news, who will be trending this year. Makes sense considering twitter no doubt will push this hashtag as hard as they can. This video features Dubai DJ Martin Garrix, talking about...well, being a DJ and releasing an album. Others in the series are Singer-songwriter @ShamirBailey . Foodie @ImLauraMiller who will publish her first cookbook.
@BdotAdot5 who apparently became internet famous by impersonating the basketball moves of famous athletes. @AnaKasparian, journalist for the liberal/progressive channel The Young Turks, And visual artist @JRart who will have his first exhibition at the Louvre.
He's the most interesting to me, to be honest. I think it's telling all of these folks are verified. While I can understand Garrix with 2.5 million followers, some of them like Laura Miller, only have 7,099 followers. But remember, Twitter really is a popularity contest arbitrarily determined by the people who work there. If these influencers tow the line, they'll be fine.
