Even though the 2005 awards are technically 2004 awards (since D-Day is in January) the extremely long 'air-date' leeway is a bit much, I mean 2002 for crying out loud? Aug/Sept 2003 wouldn't have been odd at all, but here it's like they're asking for old stuff. So Pot Noodle and BSM - Cruise are test commercials? Shouldn't that be a specific category like Pauls "playground"? ;) Or is this like Cannes, where ads that never ran can take home gold? :P [sorry Cannes lovers]
A coffee retailer's advertising campaign on Boston taxis is making some people do a double take when they see the cabs whizzing around the city with a cup of coffee perched precariously on the roof.
The ad campaign, a creation of Clear Channel Taxi Media, is a Starbucks Corp. cup magnetically attached to the roofs of about 100 city cabs. It is the first advertisement of its kind in the nation.
"It's pretty ingenious," said Larry Meister, vice president of the Independent Taxi Owners Association. "People will pull up to cabs driving 55 miles per hour and start beeping and pointing to the roof."
I'm a fan too, I'm glad that he got to be "right" though the compensation is tiny in comparison to what Nike normally spits out which is a shame, and the fact that Nike wants to take it to a higher court is sad. Heineken did the right thing [tm] when they hired Zhu Zhiqiang for their stickman cartoons.
