AdLand Fun Facts - The music was from Disney's Robin Hood, and the guinea pig was (cough) acquired from a well-known Blockbuster commercial. Curiously, Jamster's Hamster Dance disappeared from their offerings soon after we posted about it in January.
The spot is live and working again at apple.com

The King's in the forest on the left, and out in the open on the right - different lighting situations. Plus, he's always been kind of swarthy (check out his Halloween mask).
So, I think, it's either a lighting trick or slightly different settings between the two videos. If you compare his ruffly-fluff collar thingie between the two pictures, you'll see that the coffee King's is more yellow-creamy and the original is more white. Now look at the faces - similar differences.
But then again, with CP+B, anything is possible - they might have made him more multi-culti after all.
Ok, in one way, this is one of the better current anti-drug commercials - my heart goes out to the grandma in the spot. However, like most of the others, it has a fatal flaw.
I got to thinking... waitaminnit... a stoned grandson or granddaughter would never, and I mean NEVER blow off or forget dinner plans. It's called "munchies," people, and grandma fixin's are among the best.
If this spot's attack subject was meth or heroin or crack or MDMA or cocaine (for rich kids) or even alcohol, it might make more sense, but since the current national policy likes to pretend that pot is the only substance that exists, I guess we'll never know.
As this AdLand Commercial Archive Classic shows (which in itself is a remake of another memorable classic ad), the Feds didn't always have blinders on.
For even more Cillity goodness, take a look at an ad for Easy-Off Bam , which appears to be the pert'near word-for-word U.S. clone of this cleaner (either that or it's the world's most blatant case of commercial theft), and of course, there's also an American wannabee rival product, Kaboom , with no less a spokesman than the great shouter Billy Mays himself. (Video links work for superadgrunts only)
So when is somebody going to do a club remix of the US versions?
Hmm... I wonder if these things are urine- and squealing-tire-burnout-proof? Or, in the case of Denver, snow-cover-proof? (Billboards have gravity on their side to deal with the snow, you know.)
Hmm... or Hummer-parking-diagonally-over-three-parking-spaces-proof?
And of course, these ads are going to be upside-down or sideways for viewers 75% of the time. Still, once could have a bit of fun with these, if done right.
