This Super Bowl spot has everything you would expect from a Super Bowl spot. Over the top humor. Random celebrity placement (Scott Baio). Mocking lame cultural memes from past and present. A familiar premise in an odd setting. And some fun storytelling. Had they not titled it with a hashtag no one would ever use except on Super Bowl Sunday, this would have been a very enjoyable ride I didn't see coming until the end. Funny ending, too. I just wish they would have added some spice to the "always available year round," part which sounded like it came straight from the brief but that's the copywriter in me talking.
By the way, there is uh, apparently, a social campaign in which Scott Baio is anxious to get home, in case you want to help him. I'm not sure how you can help him get home via social but I'm guessing it will involve liking and sharing.
