Wow, Suzann McLean writes a book with her face and movements. I agree she's perfectly cast, I also love the attention to details like her dress. Dark blue at the start, even somber, but then the lighting changes and suddenly it's a teal with flowers that blossom. This is really well done all around.
At this point this skit grows ever more mythological. I can't even remember who it might be, but Robin Williams? No, his early standup would always have me howling and know it was him, because he is or rather was quite unmistakable. I would have loved to have seen him do a kit like this though. Actually, I can picture it in my head, he fluctuates between Mrs Doubtfire and Goood Morning Vietnam types.
Nicely done. I wish there were harder hitting examples though, "you are not wearing that dress" doesn't sound emotionally distressing to someone who hasn't had their entire way of being policed by a control freak. "No one will ever love you" is the classic and I think that one communicated it best.
This looks like early 2000 Denmark to me. The slanted ceiling, the bath by the window, the fire-escape balcony. The fire-hazard candles. The overcrowded apartment. In fact I was probably at that party. I walked home before morning light though, that's when the Danish morning bars open, you amateurs.
PS spot the irony in the screenshot from Breitbart. First there's an ad to subscribe to the NYT, then the top half of the page is eaten up by Breitbart's own shop. Much like music creators before them, 'content creators' are now encouraged t just sell T-shirts to make their money.
There will be too many t-shirts in the world.
I almost didn't recognize Allison as a Hollywood cotton candy hair platinum blond. She rocks it, and it makes it even more Hitchcock-like to have a platinum blond in the mix. Best eye shadow/makeup is Kuoth. This was really long but almost every shot is stunning and could be a double page spread on its own. I wish this was in Hitchcock color and not Psycho black and white. It's selling me the clothes, after all.
