Pancheros is getting local

For the past 5 months, Pancheros Mexican Grill been working closely with their Advertising and Design agency, Cultivator Advertising And Design and communications agency, Explore Communications, to create billboard and transit ads unique to Pancheros fanbases.

The campaign which launched on August 5th and goes until mid-November is live in cities across multiple states including Ann Arbor, MI, Shelton, CT, Iowa City, IA and more.

Campaigns like this are often difficult to pull off without resulting to pandering clichés. What's even worse is when someone phones it in by starting the headline with "Hey (insert city name). As in "Hey, Dallas. Come eat here."

Thankfully Pancheros avoids that and keeps the humor light.

Also, billboard and transit ads are a smart media buy. You are probably waiting for the bus or driving past a billboard during the lunch or dinner hours. Good time to remind you that you could be stuffing your face with a massive burrito.

Now I want a burrito.
