I built this website. From scratch. Including the servers.
It's the same story-idea as "the hoop". Because Sporting goods aren't and item, they're an invitation... At least that the proposition i reverse engineered from watching these ads.
Celebs or e-celebs make no difference to me, it's all borrowed interest and relies too heavily on people knowing who the celeb is. You're targeting sports fans, they will probably know who (insert famous player) is, but non-sports fans don't. In the end we're selling a product, and celeb-ads spend too much time selling the celeb. This computer can flip the screen 360 degrees, this is an awesome feature. Why aren't we talking about that instead?
It's the studio lighting on the jewelry making it stick out too much in some scenes. I'm a sucker for animation, as we all know, but this felt a little dated to be honest as it sort of has a 90s look. It's a cute idea to showcase the jewelry in this fashion, like the shadow DeBeers commercials, it lets the sparkle glitter out of situ, so that the viewer can picture it on themselves. This is smart. P.S. Secret Santa I might like those blingy earrings hanging in that tree....
They also serve as both "media" as well as "talent" because each one of them will brag about it on the channels they are influential in. Basically a shortcut into e-popularity, which they need as that ad wasn't very interesting on its own. With such a nice physical feature you'd think they could get a little creative.
Props for skater working hard, whatever she was wearing looked flexible and warm and I've spent too many freezing toe moments around ice-rinks not to notice. This really was two ads, the "button" with the runner could have been a standalone. Hopefully they'll make that a short edit and run it as bumpers.
