I'll miss them. Some of the best artists worked for MAD, and even if I didn't understand the satire when I was really young, and my brother bought the magazine which I promptly stole, I absolutely loved the artists.

Don Martin will always make me laugh at his slapstick comics. I was mesmerized by Jack Davis' skill at getting celebrities likeness just right. Al Jaffee's back covers were brilliant. John Severin's light and shade. Holy hell, I only now realized how much these guys influenced me. I always thought the artistic quality of the magazine was set really high.

It is a shame that we don't have time to create this kind of stuff these days because things move so fast.
