Careerbuilder.com first to buy for Super Bowl 2006

Just three months after this year's Super Bowl, ad space is already being purchased. Yesterday, Careerbuilder.com announced they have lined up airtime for Super Bowl XL.

"CareerBuilder.com's strategy has always been to invest in marketing venues that generate the greatest return for our company, our customers and our partners," said Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder.com. "The Super Bowl, an event reaching over 90 million viewers, proved to be a highly effective venue to further penetrate our target audience. Our overall marketing program has helped to drive our best-performing quarter to date. We increased our
revenue by 88 percent year-over-year to $107 million in Q1 and attracted a record high of over 20 million unique visitors per month."

The campaign for 2005 which began with those chimpazee ads during the Super Bowl by Cramer-Krasselt will continue this Fall when the American football season starts up again.

Super Bowl XXXIX was CareerBuilder.com's first time in the Super Bowl. And it makes this quote found at MediaPost somewhat amusing.

"We think the Super Bowl is a great advertising opportunity, and it has been so in the past for us," a Careerbuilder.com spokeswoman said. "Plus, with the whole advertising package we were presented with, there was no reason to wait until it started getting cold."

The way it is phrased, their spokesperson makes it seem as if they have been in many.
